DSC09284This are the dental photographs of a gentleman in his fifties. He is fond of paan-chewing and had come to me yesterday due to a shaky and painful lower molar (back molar). The tooth needs to be removed (extracted) as it won’t be made stable.

Look at these photographs to notice how Paan Chewing has damaged his teeth. These are worn out beyond recognition. But he says he has no problem due to these worn-out teeth. It highlights the fact how notoriously symptomless the dental problems are.

DSC09292He may say that he does not have any problem but function is definitely affected. Even facial esthetics (appearnce) are compromised as you can notice in this picture.

I have advised him to quit this habit. We can do something about these worn-out, abraded teeth.

Once again i noticed today that it is very important to keep on motivating patietns to stay away from harmful stuffs. After he saw these pictures, he told me that on our own we can’t see what damage has been caused in the mouth. But these photographs clearly show the destruction. He seemed motivated to quit this bad habit of Paan Chewing.
