Repair of Broken Teeth Matches Natural Tooth Colour

Broken front tooth in a 20-year girl — one week ago

I hope you remember a case-report  which i had shared with you in which i had described how a 20-year old girl broke her front tooth about a week ago. I had discussed the issue in detail. For reading about that case you can click on this link… Many tooth fractures are easily repaired.

So that girl had came to me for repair of that broken tooth. She was otherwise quite comfortable now –no sensation, no discomfort in the tooth –all was well.

This broken tooth was repaired today for which i used light-cured composite. It is an excellent dental restorative which comes in various shades so that after shade selection the colour of the repaired portion perfectly matches the original tooth colour as you can see in this picture which was taken immediately after composite build-up of the broken tooth.

The procedure is absolutely painless and is over in just about 15 minutes or so. Esthetics are very good – you can see nobody can differentiate the repaired portion from the original tooth structure. She felt very happy to see the mirror. She and her father were quite worried a week ago thinking that now she would have to live with the broken front tooth. However, rapid advances have happened in dental sciences.

So, next time you see a person with a broken front tooth, tell him/her that it can be repaired.
Take care! Good night…….
